One that I have is though unemployment is down, how much is this related to "under employment" . . . This is a topic our political leadership never discusses, people who are employed but earning well below what they use to earn.

I fell into that category for over two years, earning about 30% of what my income had previously been; i.e., low six figures. I was not alone, as I knew and came across a lot of individuals like myself, that had been in a senior/executive management position that was eliminated, then having difficulty being rehired at similar level, both position and income.

Though companies may be added jobs, the vast majority of these are at the bottom of the organization paying at or just above minimum wage while eliminating jobs at the other end of the organization.

After more than two years of pursuing job opportunities, I finally secured a position that will put my career back on track . . . Based on my level of experience and skill sets, when I lost my job in the fall of '13, I never thought it would take more than two years to find a similar position. Though I would hit difficult times, I never gave up looking for that senior/executive level job . . . Unfortunately, I know of others who have.Dave Kalatanoreply@blogger.com
