Been catching up on your past few posts and it's always a pleasure to read your solid, original analysis.
Back in 2007 there was a genius who foresaw the sharemarket crash then, forecast a second leg in the future (looks like that's here now) and said the next economic boom would not be until the 2030s - that last being a projection now becoming more common, from a variety of sources.
The cited genius is now basically off the grid; but another in Martin Armstrong might have value for you and your clients (if you have not already run across him, his site is armstrongeconomics.com and see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_A._Armstrong )
Researching Armstrong in 2007, when he was still in prison, it seemed to me there'd likely been a personality/ego clash with the judge on top of whatever fix was likely to have been in - plainly the contempt jailing was such an egregious ruling that it was an embarrassment to the rest of the judiciary.
Regards
MalcolmMalcolm McIntyrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12192798572384575595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3082934253265791360.post-29796995935174331602016-01-25T01:11:48.784-08:002016-01-25T01:11:48.784-08:00Hi Don, The supply/demand predictions around the t...Hi Don, The supply/demand predictions around the topic of fleet replacement forecasts are dependent on demand for road freight services which, while being accepted as being an extremely volatile market, relies on an economically-derived commodity [road transport] for business. Maybe truck manufacturers should rather study/research trends that affect the demand for road transport services, in terms of vehicle replacement and fleet growth, rather than rely on weak predictions derived from vehicle salesmen discussing the opinions of customers.
